He is a past member of the California Travel & Tourism Commission. John is the Founding Chairman of the Lassen National Park Foundation, President of the California Parks Hospitality Association, and a Member of the California State Roundtable on Parks, Recreation and Tourism. He is also a past member of the Board of Directors of the California Lodging Industries Association. John has previously served as Chairman of the Board for both Tehama and Humboldt Banks and is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Fibreboard Corporation.
John has been the recipient of many statewide and local community honors and was the winner of the Norman P. Clark California Tourism Entrepreneur of the Year Award for 2001. He was inducted into the California Tourism Hall of Fame in 1999. John frequently speaks on topics such as tourism, California business and personal development on a statewide basis. John has also written a book entitled “Green-Lighting Your Future” available on Amazon. Most recently, John was inducted into the “California Outdoors Hall of Fame” in 2014.
Mrs. Pitts is a co-founder and past President of the Tehama County Education Foundation and has served as a member of many community organizations for the past thirty five years. She has been honored as Businesswoman of the Year for Assembly District #1, Businessperson of the Year for Tehama County, and recognized for outstanding volunteer work by the Tehama County Department of Education. She has been a member of the Lassen Park Foundation since 1981 and is currently Secretary of the National Parks Hospitality Association, a national industry group working to improve visitor services throughout our National Parks. Mrs. Pitts holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California, San Francisco, receiving certification as Registered Nurse and Public Health Nurse. She resides in Lafayette, California.

He joined The California Parks Company in 2012 as the Director of Safety & Training. In 2013 he was promoted to the Regional Vice President for the Northern Operations and oversees the operations within Lassen Volcanic National Park, Shata Trinity National Forest and Oregon State Parks. He also provides additional bench strengths for operations, special projects and marina consultation. Additionally, he he is a Senior VP for Business Development and advises on potential acquisitions.
Michael was formerly Chief Operations Officer of Water Resorts Inc. overseeing resorts on California waterways from Shasta to the Delta. He also is a board member of the Shasta Cascade Wonderland Association and the co-founder and past-president of the Shasta Lake Business Owners Association.
Prior to joining The California Parks Company, Mr.Colvin worked for Forever Resorts overseeing up to 13 operations as a Regional Vice President. Mr.Colvin has been responsible for resort operations in California, Nevada and Arizona. These operations were located in National Parks, Bureau of Reclamation lands, USDA Forest Service lands, California State Park lands, and by the City and County of San Francisco. The California marinas he oversaw were the first to achieve California Clean Marina ratings and special membership recognition from the U.S.EPA National Environmental Performance Track for demonstrating environmental excellence.
Tim is a Certified Marina Manager #131, a Haz Mat Incident Commander, and First Responder. He holds many other certifications including Level 1 Structural Fire Fighting (NFPA 1001), Certified Open Water Diver, by the National Association of Underwater Instructors, level one and level two Zebra/Quagga Mussel Inspector and Training Instructor and is a certified Boating Safety Instructor by the National Safe Boating Council. Mr.Colvin is a past Vice President of the Marina Recreation Association as well as a past board member of the Shasta Cascade Wonderland Association.
Previously, Richard was the Regional General Manager for Xanterra Parks & Resorts, where he managed several resort locations within Death Valley National Park. He was the Vice President for Resort Operations at Lake Las Vegas Resort in Henderson, Nevada, overseeing resort operations for brands such as the Hyatt Regency, Ritz Carlton, Jack Nicklaus and Tom Weiskopf golf courses.
Prior to that, he was the Vice-President General Manager of Wild Dunes Resort in Isle of Palms, South Carolina, where his efforts were recognized with the Mobil 4 Star Award and the AAA 4 Diamond Award.
In the 90s, he was VP General Manager for Sunriver Resorts in Oregon, successfully leading the resort’s repositioning as an upper tier attraction, accomplished through extensive capital investment and a 50 million dollar upgraded master plan.
His earlier management stints include Destination Resorts, a vacation rental operation known as Wailea Villas, a privately-owned oceanfront property in Maui, Hawaii and John Gardiner’s Tennis Ranch in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he had the privilege of working alongside Captains of American industry, political leaders and, celebrities. He also worked at another John Gardiner property, the upscale Enchantment Resort, in Sedona, Arizona.
His passion for the industry is remarkable, developed over years of dedicated service and commitment. Prior to his long-standing career in formal hotel and resort operations, Richard developed and operated his own restaurant and bar in Spring Hill, Florida.
Kelly prides himself on the ability to uncover hidden assets and underutilized opportunities. He also uses in-depth knowledge of human behavioral patterns to create irresistible offers. Previously, he handled the marketing for the largest recreational marine insurance company in the west with revenues totaling $45 million a year as well as developing membership for four recreational safety organizations. He has a Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of the Pacific, a practitioner of the 80/20 rule and is always learning something new. He oversees a team of six marketing and sales professionals which provide support to 24 operations.
Ms. Potts began her career with The California Parks Company leading over 200 events annually at its premier special events facility, Castle Rock Park in Walnut Creek, CA. Promoted to the corporate headquarters, Ms. Potts led the Reservations Sales Department building the client database to over 13K, developing the marketing plan, leading onsite customer presentations, writing proposals, and negotiating customer event agreements. Helping to build the mobile catering division and grow the on and off site catering and special events business to over 600 functions per year, Ms. Potts continued to progress in the company. Ms. Potts was promoted to Director of Sales & Marketing where she created and executed the strategic marketing and communications plan.
Leading a team of digital media experts, web developers, graphic designers, and location based sales and marketing professionals, Ms. Potts is known for her integrated marketing and brand building initiatives utilizing digital, print, broadcast, and direct mail. She drives consumer satisfaction by analyzing customer desires and needs while actively managing the online reputation of the company’s diverse operations.
A native of the Bay Area, Ms. Potts holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in psychology from San Francisco State University.
With her role as Director of Sales, she is responsible for direct event sales development for Silver Falls State Park, Angel Island State Park, Ranch at Little Hills, Lake Hemet, Lake Gregory, Lake Chabot, and other TCPC locations. Her departments’ focus is increasing sales revenue, encouraging companies to enjoy the great outdoors, and helping others appreciate the beauty in our parks.
Ms. Tan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Communications from De La Salle University in Manila. She is extremely passionate about encouraging women to be active in the community and to maximize their potential whether it be at work or with their own business. A loyal green archer since birth, she diligently instills the La Sallian values to her beautiful son, Liam.
Ms. Koeberer holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology & Film from the University of California, Santa Barbara and has also studied Design & Communication Arts at University of California, Los Angeles.
Prior to The California Parks Company, he was the Director of Business Development & Strategic Engineering at VenTek, in which he combined his expertise in marketing and technology to drive business growth with particular focus on opportunities for technological support within the automated payment industry, as-well-as working with clients to develop engineering specifications for new projects. He was responsible for developing short and long-range goals for new systems development, specializing in pay station applications and their appropriate implementation to meet the unique revenue collection needs of customers throughout the country.
Ray also served as the company’s Director of Client Services, the primary contact for all clients in every channel while successfully managing a growing client base. While this role allowed for constant human interaction, he also took the opportunity to delve deeper into tech development. Harnessing his background and interest in the field, he managed the production of new payment systems, the installation scheduling of pay stations, onsite support configurations and final testing. He similarly succeeded in rolling out core training programs, instituting procedures for technical support staff, managing conflict and providing viable solutions.
Prior to joining VenTek, Ray spent many years developing national sales and marketing campaigns for RJR Nabisco and Washington Mutual, and managed corporate renovation projects for CB Richard Ellis in Southern California.
Ray is an expert in fee collection technology and is similarly proficient in other payment applications. An experienced technical writer, trainer, installer and stage presenter; he is a man of many talents who combines his love for new ideas with solid tech skills and a knack for spotting opportunities. Ray loves spending time in the outdoors with his family, and is an avid marathon runner.
As the Regional F&A Manager, she was responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of WM’s power plants located on the west coast. In addition, Ms. Del Dotto was responsible for all regulatory reporting, budgeting, forecasting and capital planning for her region.
Prior to joining WM, Ms. Del Dotto was the Business Manager for Covanta Energy’s 6 California Biomass plants. Ms. Del Dotto has had many outside affiliations during her tenure in the energy industry. She was the Company Representative at the California Energy Commission (CEC) and the California Biomass Energy Alliance (CBEA) for 15 and 10 years, respectively. She was Treasurer for the CBEA and an Industry Representative for the Annual Biomass Day at the State Capitol for 4 years. Ms. Del Dotto started her career at DH Scott & Company, where she worked in the Tax and Audit departments. Ms. Del Dotto holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University, Chico.
His specialties include full-service human resources department management, conflict resolution, compensation and benefits analysis, training and development, diversity and inclusion, engagement, retention, and compliance.
His career led him to live in various parts of the country, but he moved back to the Bay area a decade ago where he grew up to be closer to his extended family. He lives with his family in Vacaville. When Kenny’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling the West Coast, and reading a good book, attending church or going to Indy Car races.
Mr. Poimiroo began his career in travel and tourism marketing communications at Eldora Ski Area in Colorado, then continued in various marketing and PR positions at Squaw Valley USA, Marriott’s Great America, Hoefer-Amidei PR (San Francisco), Ketchum PR (San Francisco and Houston), Roaring Camp Railroads and the Yosemite Park and Curry Co.
His first assignment at Yosemite National Park was to coordinate press details for the visit of Queen Elizabeth II to The Ahwahnee hotel. He later conceived the long-running Yosemite Chefs’ Holidays and was a member of Yosemite teams that won two Take Pride in California and two Take Pride in America environmental awards. In 1992, John was appointed by California Governor Pete Wilson to serve as state tourism director. He was later made Deputy Secretary for Tourism of the California Trade and Commerce Agency.
John earned a B.A. degree in Public Relations from San José State University and an M.A. degree in Journalism from the University of Colorado, Boulder. He is a member of the Society of American Travel Writers, Bay Area Travel Writers, Outdoor Writers Association of California, California Park and Recreation Society and California Travel Industry Association. He helped found the California Roundtable on Recreation, Parks and Tourism, and serves, on the Lassen Park Foundation board. In 1996, he retired as a United States Navy Captain (O-6) after 30 years active and reserve service. John’s passions include racing sailboats and his family.
